Todays project was a stainless steel hose holder for a garden hose. Material:1/8'' 316l stainless1/16'' 316l fillerAround 80 amps Scratch start only3/32 red#7 cupOn to the build....The materialLayout for score marks to bend. I also sanded it with 180 grit on a plam sander to give it a smooth finishScored with the cutoff wheel. Now it will bend easier and straightPut it in the vise and bend awayBending all doneYa gotta spend money to make money!
Reply:Bends all welded up. Welds could have used alittle better gas coverage, but i did not have a gas lens on. Lay the wire in the grove and weld away The mounting tab/ holder tab. YUP! thats a harbor freight grinder. I picked it up today for only $10.00. It works pretty good for 10.00, it wil NEVER replace my good old milwaukee grinder though.Mounting tab holes layoutAll welded upDone! Thanks for lookingShaneYa gotta spend money to make money!

Reply:Originally Posted by weldbeadwith all due respect, this item cannot be compared to what OP built which provides a curved smooth support for whatever gets stored on it. the manufactured device shown will cause a hose to kink and crack in short order because of the pointload. my fotos attached show how i provided the same support for some expensive welding leads..sections of 10 " pipe.
Reply:I'd hang a garden hose on that!...if I had my own place and...a garden! |
