Reply:To join brass to steel I would use a silver brazing alloy that contains cadmium (brass doesn't like heat and cadmium bearing alloys have lower melting temperatures). 50N seems to be the most versatile alloy (50% silver with nickel) and is what I keep on hand for any unusual repairs.Last edited by 76GMC1500; 08-22-2012 at 12:45 AM.
