Hello guys. I am new here and hope this is the right place for the post. I am taking a welding class this semester at college. I am taking a mig class this semester then i am going to take tig next semester and arc the following. I may even do a double major in welding and construction. I am thinking and planning on getting a welder soon or after my mig class. I was wondering what mig welder you would recommed for person starting out. I am planning a smoker build with 55 gallon barrels and want to be able to do some thicker stuff. But do not want to spend a ton on a welder. I could see 1000 or maybe 2k if i can get a good welder setup for that. Thanks

Reply:If you don't know what your future holds in terms of 120v or 240v outlets, then the Millermatic 211 is another option that looks good in blue.
Reply:I like the way you think Ed LOL.Both are great welders and are worth getting. The Miller 211 or even better DVI2 are well worth it if you are looking for a dual voltage unit. If dual voltage or 220 volt isn't an issue then go for Broccli1 suggestions.Good luck on your purchase and happy weldingMiller DVI2Lincoln Precision Tig 225Thermodynamics Cutmaster 38Everything else needed.
