Going to go pick up my new Miller Diversion 165 TIG welder today............ Anyone have any probs with the thumb controls messing up ?I'll have pics later and not sure when I can use it as we are getting ready to move..
Reply:The finger control messing up? Or do you mean messing up with the finger control? I love the LS17 torch that I have on my Dynasty. May want to upgrade to a lighter power cable though. There is a thread on the Miller forum on that subject. The DIversion is a really nice machine, especially for the money. Good Luck!
Reply:I just bought a TA185, it came with an Abitig 26 air cooled tig torch. I thought about buying the diversion 165 but I could not pass on the deal I made on the TA185.I did go check the Diversion out at the welding supply shop. What I did'nt like was the fact that you can't adjust the gas pre or post flow.Although I did see some welds that was on didplay. Looked pretty dam good.I noticed the hand control looks just like the abitig 26. I bet it is.I went with a foot control, but no problems with the hand control so for.THE OLDER I GET! Reply:I'm loving my 165................ but would like to see if the post flow could be turned back some. I know its non-adjustable but it has to have a way if done by a Miller tech... dontcha think ?Seems its wasting gas, I get done welding and it spends 3/4 of its post flow time blowing into thin air...

Reply:Also, I think it would help a ton if you made a table where you could slide your wheelchair under. Making the table custom height to cater to your needs. Its touching to see you as a handicap person welding, NO HOMO...Dynasty 200DXNo MIG as of yet....
Reply:I almost bought the Diversion but when I found out that the gas flow time could not be set, I decided to buy the Thermal Arc 185. I am more than satisfied with the TA185.But I did see some welds at Miller that someone welded with the Diversion. Nice freezing welds. The salesman told me that the welder tried to make the Diversion over load but got tired of welding before it ever happened. I can say the same about the TA185.Good luck!THE OLDER I GET!
