Got the cheeks put back on and hung chrome on them inside and out. Still need to cut out the naked section of the floor and replace that. Still need to tip the bucket over and build up and bore all 8 holes. Figure if I can get the plate rolled for the back oand the floor will have it out in 16-18 days. Reply:Dang, you get my respect. I worked on a bucket at a quarry one time, the liner was "spring loaded" when we cut it out, SCARED the crap out of me. I have not touched a big bucket since. Crazy! Reply:As a Union Boilermaker, I've spent weeks on end doing nothing but arc gouging, had many a date with the good ole' oxygen lance, plasma cut feed shute panels for 16 days straight not long ago, d**n near welded entire power houses and refinaries together using about every welding process there is and doing it in positions that don't seem capable to a human being! But don't feel like I've touched the tip of the work you do. My respect and hats off to you, sir.Last edited by JLE-ENT.; 12-30-2010 at 08:25 PM.Reason: punctuationMiller XMT-3502 Lincoln Power Mig 140C (One w/ dedicated spoolgun)Jackson NexGen / Miller Digital EliteMiller S32P SuperWeldcraft 17fv & 9fv Tig TorchVictor & Purox O/ALincoln Ranger 9Fairly Cold Beer!!

Reply:Just a couple pics of the machines for those wondering ........ Both are basically the same model, one set up as an excavator (backhoe dig), one set up as a clamshell shovel (forward dig). The excavator weighs 450,000 pounds, the shovel weighs closer to 500,000 pounds. Hauling them in, took 9 permit lowboy loads each, plus one other truckload with related "small parts". One came from Vegas, one came from eastern Oregon.Pics (in order I hope) ....ShovelExcavatorView from the operator's seatHow I bypassed the contactor, able to run 500 amps plus thru my LN-25.How I kept a 400 amp gun from melting, running 500 amps plus thru it.
