Wanted to say hello and post some pictures of a cart I am putting together to hold my mig & tig units, plus bottles etc. I have been reading here for a few month and thought I would jump in, I am not a pro but I do try and build most things if I can. I work at a chemical plant so there is no shortage of free scrap.... This build is from a filing cabinet, steel and a 55 gal drum dolley that I got from work. I have been working on it the last couple days for a few hrs in the evening, hopefully I will get done with it and put some paint on it this weekend. I am using my mig with flux core wire to put it together fast.

Reply:Got the cabinet, welders and bottles just sitting on the frame to see how it looks. Also started working on the drum dolley to see how I will mount it. I have to modifiy it as it is to wide and there are cross pieces in the way that has to be cut out.

Reply:Well I finally finished the cart, I did not get to work on it much over the holidays. I finished it up and painted it yesterday and overall I am very happy with it. The filing cabinet works out great with those full extension drawers for storage. Below are some pictures of the finished cart.

Reply:It has great balance, the weight of the welders and tanks make it very stable when the drawers are open. It feels really solid when rolling it around.
Reply:Thats a great cart you built. I did something similar to hold my 5 x7 horizontal Band saw and it works good and gave me the storage I needed.Ray
Reply:Thanks for the kind words.........I am planning on doing the same thing for my BS too. I have another filing cabinet and it will set perfectly on top. May paint it a different color though.....
