Nuts and Bolts

So this might be a dum question. What is cheeper buying nuts and bolts by the pound or buy the pice. I would think it would be by the pound.
Reply:I only know of 2 or 3 places near me that still sell fasteners by the pound. Most of them are surplus places and don't want the hassle of pricing individual items. Inventory control  is too much a PITA to go by the pound now days for most places. Usually the cheapest (other than surplus) is by the box/case..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:By the pound for sure I am with 700r everytime I go to tractor supply I get a pound. I had to buy grade 8 at the local stre and it was 10.00 for 4  1/2 by 4 inch bolts nuts and washer would have been $5.00 at Tsc.Vantage 300 kubota ,miller 304 xmt ,lincoln ln 25 pro , ranger 305 G, plenty of other tools of the trade to make the sparks fly.
Reply:I sold fasteners for several years.  By the pound/bulk box is the way to go.
