Hi All,Anyone every hear of press fit aluminum wing that can be used with socket head cap screws to make a wing screw? The following product (plasmahelper.com) uses the hardware I described:See below for picturesI like the idea of being able to get finger tight for an initial adjustment and then crank down with an allen wrench to get it tight. I haven't had any luck finding this hardware at the usual places like mcmaster, mcs or fastenal. Any ideas or leads are appreciated! Thanks!Last edited by karlgabel; 02-25-2011 at 07:07 PM.Reason: messed up picture link

Reply:I don't recall seeing winged aluminum like the above. You can get lugged metal handles from Carr-Lane.Matt
Reply:Well the Mancave Creedo says: If you cant buy it, You need more tools and then build it...And some guys just buy the tools so they build it too (irregardless of availability) , of course.. So YES you can own too many tools.
Reply:Thanks for the hints guys. Unfortunately I went to all of the sites listed (mcmaster, fastnercomponents and carrlane) and many more before asking for help and found the same things you folks did - plastic! I'm concerned about heat warping theplastic. I agree with the mancave creedo - guess I'll have to get the mill and lathe up and running so I can fab the wings. The fellow who is selling the plasma guide says "I machine those in various sizes. Will be putting them on the market once I have a larger vibratory built and my anodizing set up. Probably about August, Sept." His handle on ebay is harlowindustries |
