So I bought my self a harber freight tubing bender. So I can bend curves for hand rails and other things. Here is my kinda big and possible expense problem . So when I went in my garge I forgot that I have a gravel floor so I can't bolt it down unless I pour a small concret pad. Or I could find some sort of tire and fill it will concret and move it around. But I kinda need it out of my way. And I have a asphalt drive with gravel under neath it. So it won't hold a bolt. Just need a different point of view. Worst come to worst I'll just return it. I already had it for a week sitting on my bench trying to figure it out. Thanks I'll take any ideas you have .Millermatic 211 with mvp plugs miller titanium series welding helmetstihl chain saws 8 ft welding table

Reply:If it were me I'd make a receiver mount for it so you can just slide it into your pickups receiver, take it off and store it in the corner for when its not in use.Miller Performance AD Helmet - Camo Edition Soon to have: Jackson HSL 100 - Forest Digi CamoMiller Thunderbolt AC/DC((Currently at welding school))

Reply:HF calls it a "Pipe Bender"...Description on the webpage is "12 Ton Hydraulic Pipe Bender".Was just curious since there is a difference between pipe and tubing.

Reply:I'd just bolt it to the corner of a sturdy table. You could also make a receiver with pipe to bolt to a sturdy table. Use a set screw so you can tilt it a little for those long tangents.Millermatic 200Hobart Handler 120Victor O/A & Ramco BandsawLincoln 225 ACSnapOn AD HoodMiller XMT304/22AHypertherm Powermax 1650 G3Lincoln Idealarc DC600 w/Extreme 12 VSMiller Digital Elite "Joker"

Reply:First of all, that will only bend PIPE (sch40, 80 etc) not tube or conduit. Although I have used mine to bend radiuses in large flat and channel. It will work vertical or horizontal. It is actually usually better if it is not mounted so it can move around, especially if you are working on long pieces of pipe. I have used it to form large radiuses on weird shaped objects, but not with much uniformity. I am trying to upload pics, we will see.
Reply:pic 1, I have made over 500 of these commercial tables for recreation areas, all with that bender. Custom milled 3"X12" cedar. The playgrounds are all custom, I have made about 10 of them Attached Images
Reply:Sorry, that's the first time I posted pics. Anyway all that was done with the same bender you bought using 2" sch 40 pipe. I use it horizontally on the ground, the square nubs on one side of the frame hold it the correct distance off the ground. I then use 2X4's or what ever is the correct thickness to keep all the bends on the same axis. Remember, no tube, just pipe!
Reply:Anyway, I would chaulk out what you need on your asphalt driveway and just move the bender along the piece of material. Most people think they are junk because they try to bend tube and it kinks. As you can see, I have bent miles of pipe with mine, they work fine when used as intended. I did modify mine with a ram that connects to a air operated hydraulic pump for that many bends. One trick is to take sample pieces of straight pipe, mark them every inch, then bend them to 90 degrees. Save them as samples to lay out your project because pipe will stretch and shrink as you bend it. I also measure between the top of the frame to the die top to know when I reach 90 degrees, or 75 degrees for swings etc. because there is always springback.
Reply:Sorry too miss In forum you all but I ment to say there compact bender. The one that lance/ chuckE2009 on youtube has. That's the one I have and I'm still trying to fiqure out how to mount it. Thanks and have a great holiday.Millermatic 211 with mvp plugs miller titanium series welding helmetstihl chain saws 8 ft welding table
