Hey Guys was looking at buying millermatic 252, Was looking to buy a mig welder good enough to weld hooks on a backhoe bucket,Would this welder be good enough to do the job. Thanks Rick
Reply:It will, but depending on the size of the hoe you will probably need to do it in multiple passes. I welded teeth on a big komatsu trackhoe with a lincoln 400A idealarc/LN-7 mig machine and they're still holding up.You will get more bang for your buck repairing heavy equipment with a stick welder. I posted a thread about it a while ago:http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php...hlight=komatsu
Reply:Thanks Greenbuggy i have a case 580 super M just was trying to stay away from the stick welding do alot of mig welding but haven't done much stick. Was just digging around to find a nice used or new miller mig that would work on heavier steel 1/2 inch and up.Right now i use the miller 211 and i love it.thanks again for your help.

Reply:Hey Just want to thank you guys for your input really appreciate your help.
Reply:Why are you trying to stay away from stick? If your trying to weld thicker metals, you may need a gouger some day which would require a CC machine a.k.a. stick welder.
Reply:Jay O i dont normally weld much thick metal figured with the 252 that would be more versatile for me could use it on heavy sheet plus weld aluminum. |
