Just wondering if anyone knows anything about the Sanrex Sanarg 200 amp AC/DC Tig welders. Are they good? I just bought one very cheap ( Probably for a reason) Ha ha. I just wanted it to do some Ally welding at home. I think they are a Japanese machine? Can anybody please help me out here?? Attached Images

Reply:This link says the duty cycle is 20%. Seems pretty low to me. And what is "crater current"? http://www.batons.com.tw/picture/pro...weldEN0726.pdfMiller 211 w/ spool gunMiller Dynasty 200DXLongevity 60i IGBT plasmaO/A w/ crappy chinese torch/gaugesSouth Bend 10K latheGrizzly 4029 10x54 millGrizzly 7x12 hor bandsawangle grnders, bench grnder, bench belt sndr7.5 hp 80gal cmprsor
Reply:Looks a lot like a TA185 because the TA is (or at least used to be) manufactured by Sanrex to Thermal Arcs specs. TA185 has a 30% duty cycle @ 185A i believe, Miller Dynasty is 20% @ 200A...Crater current is used in conjection with slope up/down settings and a momentary switch/button on the torch for times when a pedal is more hassle than it's worth. So at the end of a weld instead of smoothly backing off the pedal, when you release the button the machine will wind the amps down over a user set time to the crater current. Sometimes called finish current/end currentLast edited by hotrodder; 03-11-2010 at 09:39 AM. |
