Well i got me a few new toys over the last couple days. The welder is a millermatic 200 i got it for $300 bucks i just had to put a new gun on it and a tank. It welds good no problems with it yet. I also got a craftsman lath and table it came with some tooling theres some other stuff that came with it but i got to go back and pick it up. i also got a small welding table its not the best or straightest but its a start and was free the lath and table was also free from a good friend of mine . What do you guys think about the millermatic 200 any thing i should be aware of and trick to getting it set right or welding with it. Im slowly gathering tools to maybe do some side work. I really enjoy welding and building stuff for people. hope you all have a good day.     Last edited by chevyrig; 12-24-2012 at 06:08 PM.trailblazer 302 spoolmatic 25a with wc-24thermal arc 161s tig rigmillermatic 200dialarc 250 hf tig rig with spool gun and boxand wanting more......
Reply:The mm200 is a decent machine. I had an opportunity last year to buy a mm251 for 300 it even came with a spoolgun, I saw the add of craigslist but the guy wouldn't hold it for a few hours, I was just getting in fron offshore and it takes like 4 hours to drive from Louisiana to Pensacola. I sure wish he would have held it for me.
Reply:Very nice tools just in time for Christmas, that millermatic would fall into the oldie but goodie class, a lot of them still out there working just fine. That machine should have plenty of power to do most anything around the home or garage. Nice score, good luck with it."Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum"Lincoln Idealarc 250 AC/DCMillermatic 251   Syncrowave 300   30A spoolgunLincoln MP210Hypertherm 45(2) LN 25(2) Lincoln Weldanpower 225 CV(4) SA200   1 short hood    SA250    SAM 400
Reply:In the vernacular of the Vintage Machinery forum  "YOU SUCK!"  How do you sleep at night having received that lathe for free?Check the model number on the tail stock end of the lathe bed.  I think it begins with a 101 prefix.  If it does the lathe is an Atlas manufactured for Sears and parts are still available from Clausing.  If you don't have the owners manual for it one can be downloaded at the Vintage Machine website.  http://vintagemachinery.org/pubs/222/3396.pdfThe work bench the lathe is setting on brings around $100-$125 in these parts at auction just by itself. The welder wasn't a bad snag either.  Oldie but goody.  You, my friend, made out like a fat rat at a picnic!RogerOld, Tired, and GRUMPYSalesman will call, Batteries not included, Assembly is required, and FREE ADVICE IS WORTH EXACTLY WHAT YOU PAY FOR IT!Dial Arc 250HFThunderbolt 225 AC/DCAssorted A/O torches
Reply:Its a craftsman lath made by atlas i got all the stuff to do threads and tons of bits all the stuff that came with it new still with it. The lath is mine to do what i want with under one condition i cant sell it if i ever get tired of it ( like that will ever happen). I also for got to mention i got a decent anvil its one heavy sucker i need to build a stand for then post pics.trailblazer 302 spoolmatic 25a with wc-24thermal arc 161s tig rigmillermatic 200dialarc 250 hf tig rig with spool gun and boxand wanting more......
Reply:You sir did do a very good job
Reply:You did really well. My first lathe was an Atlas Clausing similar to that. Question, though, do you plan to ditch the carpet under your welding table?

Reply:The MM200 has the same output as the 250 class.  They just rated the output at 60% duty cycle instead of 40%.It's inductance is also factory tuned to run well on straight CO2.  I have one and in my searches on it, I've heard it's one of the best Miller ever made.   Simple internal parts and quite durable.  Mines 30 years old and runs great.  My grandchildren will likely be using it some day.TA Arcmaster 300CM3XMT 304S22P12 suitcase feederX-Treme 12VSOptima pulserTA161SMaxstar 150STLHypertherm PM45OP setupStihl 020AVP, 039, 066 Magnum

Reply:I just noticed that the lathe has a QCGB? If I'm seeing the picture correctly...Nice not having to swap out change gears if you decide you want to thread.
Reply:Very nice lathe! Looks to be the 12" and it has the QCGB already! You got lucky with the lathe haul!
Reply:I think i did prety well. I picked up the 4 jaw chuck for it from him today and he asked me if i wanted a craftsman band saw its on a table same style as the lath but little smaller.  It needs a new blade but other than that its nice and for the grand total of free ill take it. im realy starting to love this guy. Under same conditions as the lath if i get tired of it or want rid of it i cant sell it. But i dont think i could ever ger rid of ether of them. I will get you pics of the saw when i get a chance.trailblazer 302 spoolmatic 25a with wc-24thermal arc 161s tig rigmillermatic 200dialarc 250 hf tig rig with spool gun and boxand wanting more......
