Has anyone ever used these before ? Do you guys have a better (cheaper) alternative. Tried just a regular hose clamp, doesnt work very well. They are used for custom headers so the pipes sill stay in place while tacking them on the car.http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EV...TWCS/?rtype=10Then click on "Larger view"ThanksDave
Reply:I've never used them but I sure wish I had come up with that idea! $90.00 for 4 clamps, that is insane!!! How much do you really think they cost to make in bulk?Sure, I can fix it... I got a welder!!!

Reply:Just use a regular hose clamp- some of the wider ones if you can find them. Drill couple holes in the band of the clamp. Then clamp your two pieces together....or all the pieces of the complete exhuast together. Once everything fits like you want...then just go around and tack weld inside each of the holes in the clamps. Easy and cheap.
Reply:I've never seen "wider" hose clamps, but ill look.Snowdog, I like your idea, but I dont think it would work on headers as the bends are too tight. Thanks,Dave
Reply:I think Breeze makes some wider ones. They arent neccessary but help in some cases. Here is a pic of the general idea- not my photo but my clamps are pretty much identical to this one. |
