This could have been real bad!

Last night I got a call from a buddy that was broke down on the side of the road. Seems he was pulling a load of horse crap and they loaded the trailer too heavy for the trailer. He asked me to weld it and I simply told him that Im not good enough to do it. So he called me back and said he found someone that can do it, but his welder isnt portable, can we use yours. simply put, yes. When we showed up with the welder I found the tounge just about off the trailer! I looked at him and asked, are you nuts! Seems he forgot to add in the fact that with the rain yesterday, just over an inch, and the saw dust was getting heavier by the min. He was traviling cross the state with the load, so it has been getting wet for hours. The tounge was just a but fit up to the frame, and really couldnt hold much. As the guy did the repairs to get it home I explained to him how the tounge needed to be fixed. He agreed and when we got home he looked at my trailers where the tounge is built under the floor. Also I explained that he was very lucky as no one got hurt or killed for that mater! also this is why I didnt feel comfortable doing the repair for him. I often say, jokingly, a man needs to know his linits, and push them just a bit. Well this time I knew my limit and knew it shouldnt be pushed! Attached Images

Reply:He was at his buddy place where they have it aged real well and it worked great on his garden. Really if you met my buddy, you would understand. I think hes nuts most of the time, and his wife dose too! That guy in the black **** is a big boy aint he!

Reply:One went flat and I think that is what really did the tounge in. We replaced it with a new one.

Reply:I got mine like you see with a blown eng for 250. I took 3 engs and made one good one and have a grand total of 450 in it. After that job, you know how the friend thing works, its paid for. Ive made all my money back Ive put into it.

Reply:I welded at a gas station once as the door covering their propane refuelling station fell off.  The propane tech and myself both had the tank locked out.  When these situations come up, you just need to be careful with what you are doing and pay close attention to your surroundings; be aware of any hazards.
