HI everyone,I have a Pro Mig 180 which I'm very happy with. My friend gave me his 100sg to try, but its supposed to have the switch, which is on "his" machine. It seems to me, the only problem of using it without the switch is the "inside" wire speed assembly will just run while the spool gun does, too. If I leave the tensioner undone, I don't seem any thing wrong. Am I missing something??? Yes, I have a separate argon bottle, and I've read as much info on welding aluminum as I can. Thanks in advance,Pete O
Reply:Not familiar with that machine, but have used a spool gun on an older Millermatic 200.  Those machines had a port for the spool gun which energized the contact but did not feed the wire, although it did make the gun hot while the spool gun was in operation.  On your machine loosening the were feed rollers would keep it from feeding wire, or you could add a toggle switch on the panel and run the drive feed power through it.  That way you could just flip the toggle to run off the wire feed when the spool gun is in use.Last edited by Comp Chassis; 01-05-2013 at 02:17 PM.
