Vise-Grips, two for $5 at HD

Hey guys!!So, no, this isnt a build video, just something I thought I'd pass along.I read on another forum that Home Depot was having a sweet sale on vise-grips where you could get a 10" pair and a 5" pair for $5.I bought six sets, a total of 12 vise grips for $30 and some tax.I was happy... Made this video to pass this along, hopefully some of y'all can hit up your local HD and get in on this, before whenever this ends happens. Reply:I just went 15 minutes ago and bought some. Sure enough $5 a pack. Might depend where you are from...Thanks for sharing!And to clarify, when I went to get them the listed price said they were $10. Reply:I think that's part of the reason we've become a "throwaway" society because so much of the stuff we buy we end up, sooner than later, throwing it away when it breaks. Reply:Hmmmmm, this is really interesting. Maybe this is something they only did in some stores?My store had 12 sets in a display. I wanted to buy all of them, but I didnt see any others around so I only bought six. They were NOT with the pliers. In the store theres this tool corral thing, they were at the entrance, facing so you wouldn't see them as you walked in. I almost missed them...Took a little looking, but it wasnt bad.By the time I heard of this sale, it had been going on for a few days. I thought it was too late for me, but I wanted to find this "clearance" section that HD supposedly has, and thats when I found the pliers. I was happily surprised.One thing I will say, is that I posted about this on my fan page on Facebook as soon as I got home, before I made the video. Someone said it was this set, and that it was un-advertised. Reply:Hows the quality, you ask?Well, honestly, its not as good as the old American made vise-grips. I've yet to hear of a tool company selling BETTER tools since moving operations to China, and Irwin is no exception.They are NOT as good as the American ones, but they are ALMOST as good. There are very few differences. The biggest difference I've found is that the American made sets don't collect welding splatter like these new "Rice-Grips" do. They feel 95% as strong, structurally. Wish I'd bought a few hundred dollars worth of the USA made ones before they were gone. Oh well... Reply:HD has Christmas specials left at half price or $5 on Milwaukee screwdriver 24 piece sets. Bought three of them the other day. Price on shelf was not what they rung up at the counter, so take them and get a price from checkout girl.  These were the impact grade sets that were normally 19.88 so take a look.
