Hi everyone! I am creating a really cool thing, but am stuck as far as what is available.I'm not a welder, or a machinist or anything, so I don't even know what's possible..Basically what i want is to be able to pivot over a specific area without moving. At first I thought if I had like a ball in a cup kind of concept, but then if I were ontop of the ball- when the balls turns I would be put on an angle.I guess the best way to describe it is lets say you sat on a chair that would not only swivel, but would lower in response to your weight. Well if it was on a ball kind of system it would lean you, and what I want is that when you shift your weight it actually falls out from under you...but you know, controlled like! I almost think I need to go with like a shock system kind of thing?Anyone know of something that would work?

Reply:A system that you are describing would probably be best designed using a microcontroller ad server motors. Think of a modified Segway or all of the derivatives like this motorcycle:http://technabob.com/blog/2008/04/25...-meets-segway/You would need at least a gyroscope and accelerometer for positioning and movement.Just a few ideas for you.ChrisLincoln Pro Mig 180TMiller Spectrum 375 |
