Here are some pictures of a trailer that I had built to my specs.  Due to constraints and my timeline at the time, I had to have someone else build the basic trailer itself, and I did the rest.     The trailer is 32' on the deck with a 5' tongue, 30 swivel "D" rings, Warn 8000# winch, dual hydraulic rams to move the rear ramp up and down, will hold 6 five gallon fuel jugs, hydraulic tongue jack, air compressor and air tank underneath along with the spare tire that I mounted underneath.  I used a truck spare tire carrier to hold the spare, keep it out of the Arizona sun.  The tongue box houses, a tool box, air compressor, two batteries to run the lights and tongue jack.  There is air chucks at each corner, and a wheel counter on the left front wheel to keep track of the mileage.     I have put a lot of thought and effort into this trailer, everywhere I go I get comments about it.  There is a lot more ideas on this trailer than most people think of usually.  Like an adjustable hitch on the trailer, removable pigtail with different ends so it's not to easy to steal.     Thanks for looking, and comments are appreciated.-Greg Attached ImagesLast edited by mebuildit; 09-25-2010 at 07:11 PM.---No good deed goes unpunished---
Reply:Now that is one HELL of a trailer. Extremly well thought out and built. What did you build it for? Does it have a specific application?StephenMillermatic 251Miller Syncrowave 200Miller 30A SpoolgunHypertherm Powermax 30Etc., etc., etc.............Cancer Sucks!
Reply:Real good job. i have built several little 5x8 trailers in the past but nothing like this but always wanted to.
Reply:Very nice. What kind of finis is on the deck and fenders. Also, when you black out the tag on pics, make sure the bottom of the trailer is not shiny enough to reflect it"Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! I sent him over to snag that MIC-4 while tbone wasn't looking!" - duaneb55"I have bought a few of Tbone's things unlike Stick-Man who helps himself" - TozziWelding"Stick-man"
Reply:Thanks for the kind words.  As for the purpose of the trailer, I was building an off road buggy but lost interest, that's why the fenders had ramps on them.      The whole trailer is covered with spray in bedliner from a local company.  Makes it  nice to walk on if the deck is wet.    My main goal for this trailer was to have a ramp that I didn't have to pick up or slide out because it's so hot here, you don't want to pick anything up in the summer months.  So I came up with this idea, and I also made it wireless with a wireless winch accessory, that way I can just sit in the car and remotely raise and lower the ramp as I drive it onto the trailer.    I built the air tank underneath, the whole tongue box, winch mount and fuel jug holders.  There are a lot of little things that I made that I didn't take pictures of either.Yes, I realized that after I posted the rear, that the reflection of the license plate were on the rear deck.  Just didn't have enough time before I left to fix it.  Oh well.-Greg---No good deed goes unpunished---

Reply:That is a very nice and well thought out trailer!  What is you reasoning on being able to lift the tail so high?  Not that it would make much difference in the build.  Again great job.Carlohttp://public.fotki.com/Naudi2U/
Reply:Holey smokes that's one serious trailer. What is the empty weight and what it the full weight it will carry (sorry for loss of proper terms)?Great job indeed!
Reply:Now thats a nice trailer!I like the pin setup which can be installed so the rear deck doesn't depend only upon the hydraulics for support.I have a frame off an old travel trailer which I eventually want to make into a hauler like yours, I think your hyd. ramp idea is really great, hope you don't mind if I copy it.Don't worry, mine won't look near as nice as yours  "The reason we are here is that we are not all there"SA 200Idealarc TM 300 300MM 200MM 25130a SpoolgunPrecision Tig 375Invertec V350 ProSC-32 CS 12 Wire FeederOxweld/Purox O/AArcAirHypertherm Powermax 85LN25

Reply:Greg,Indeed, very well thought out trailer. Do you mind sharing what thickness the deck material is? And (roughly) what cross member spacing? I'm trying to decide on something between 12 gauge and 1/4", and I'm curious what others use.Looks great...JasonXMT 350 MPA Dynasty 280DXSuitcase 8RC / OptimaSpoolmatic 30AThermco Ar / C02 mixerAssorted O/A gear

Reply:DING DING DING!!!  One of the coolest trailers I have seen....if you were to cut a notch in the floor of the trailer for the hydraulic cylinders, would you be able to lift the deck at a complete 90 degree?  Almost looks like you could, assuming that the stroke was long enough.  The other way I suppose would be to put some type of ring on it..Very cool indeed.
