I have a lincoln V155 and it does not have an auto gas on/off. Is there a way I can add a solenoid valve?
Reply:yes I believe it would be pretty simple all it is a connecter at the back that hooks up to the gas bottle and one at the front for the torch and the solenoid. The only thing is you would have to be electronically inclined to take on this project on, because you would have to wire it up so when you hit the trigger it sends power to the solenoid so it opens up the valve.Cigweld Transmig 265seBoc 140amp StickBoss 200amp AC/DC TIGLincoln Electric Invertec V260-S
Reply:I could wire it, just need to know where to buy one
Reply:Maybe try the Lincoln web site; look up the manual for one of their small MIG welders. From the exploded view of the welder, get the part number for the solenoid and then price it. You could likely do the same procedure for a Miller to a Harbour Freight welder. A gas solenoid should not be that difficult to find.Rick V
Reply:You can install an "off-delay" timed relay to that turns on the gas solenoid immediately with the foot or torch switch, but delays turning off the gas for some time after the arc is extinquished. |
