where is the bulk of welding work in the united states concentrated right now? just curious, thanks in advance
Reply:I just started a job at the Chevron in Pascagoula Mississippi, I haven't seen a job this big in years. They also have a lot of work at the Ingalls shipyard in Pascagoula, as well as other smaller shipyards.
Reply:The bulk of the welding is done in close proximity to steel. A lesser amount of welding is done next to aluminum. Actually the closer you are the better the weld. LOL
Reply:A shipyard in Pascagoula, MS is paying $40 an hour if you live more than 75 miles away. $23 Pay and $17 PerDiem.

Reply:Ok so how do I get a job at a shipyard when I graduate Lincoln tech in august (which is what I would prefer) if most of the job postings require 3-5 years shipyard experience!!!!?
