I recently built this bike from a couple old Schwinn StingRays using my Lincoln Pro Mig 180 machine: I sawed off the rear dropouts on one of the frames and extended and dropped the rear center axis. That allowed me to install a 26" mountain bike wheel in place of the original 20" wheel. I extended the front forks 5" to get it up to the same level as the rear and extended the kick stand to match the new height of the bike. I also welded on brackets to mount the front disc brake, head light and torque arm. The seat post was cut and leaned back. I then built the rear rack and welded it to the frame. I added foot pegs and I installed a 350-450w electric motor on the front wheel. I mounted the 36v 10AH battery on the front down tube. Reply:I love this type of craftsmanship. You can see a skilled handmade feel. sometimes punched out machined stuff lacks a certain gusto that a guy and a few tools can offer. rad.

Reply:I just picked up one of those bikes the other day.... Mine's gona have a gas motor on it though...I ain't peddling no where.Very Cool project...I really like the basic chassis design of the Chopper bikes.

Reply:very cool!  i'm interested in how you made those flip-up foot pegs.  are they spring-loaded?  looking to make highway pegs for my touring bike.
