I've been looking at getting a Lincoln Diesel SA250 and I was looking online about the differences of gas/diesel and i've heard some people say a diesel will shake your rig to hell. Is that true, does anyone have this problem?"Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. Reply:Some must really like them.  I have a perfectly good SA250 parts machine that someone used the main armature to fix a diesel version.Dave J.Dave J.Beware of false knowledge; it is more dangerous than ignorance. ~George Bernard Shaw~ Syncro 350Invertec v250-sThermal Arc 161 and 300MM210DialarcTried being normal once, didn't take....I think it was a Tuesday.
Reply:Only at idle. If it's wound up to weld not much worse than a gas engine.                                        MikeOl' Stonebreaker  "Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes"Hobart G-213 portableMiller 175 migMiller thunderbolt ac/dc stick Victor O/A setupMakita chop saw
Reply:I can't speak to the Lincoln Diesel SA250 specifically, but it probably has a Perkins diesel engine driving it. If the engine is mounted and tuned properly, you should have no problems with it. Crank it up to the governor and she will run like a top.
Reply:the SA-250 i have will shake the hell out of your truck at idle.   It rarely goes out on a truck, usually its just dropped of on site.Vantage 500's LN-25's, VI-400's, cobramatics, Miller migs, synch 350 LX, Powcon inverters, XMT's, 250 Ton Acurrpress 12' brake, 1/4" 10' Atlantic shear,Koikie plasma table W/ esab plasmas. marvel & hyd-mech saws, pirrana & metal muncher punches.
Reply:Diesels do run more harmonically violent than gas engines which is why they have problems with hard lines/fittings cracking. But like mentioned at higher RPM you won't personally notice the difference although the harmonics/fatigue will still be there and rattle some bolts and nuts loose now and then.
Reply:On my last truck I had a classic 3d lincoln with a continental for power. This machine was mounted on my service truck and logged about 4500 hrs with no problems at all.
Reply:Its not really a diesel problem persay, just with the diesel used in a the SA-250's.Vantage 500's LN-25's, VI-400's, cobramatics, Miller migs, synch 350 LX, Powcon inverters, XMT's, 250 Ton Acurrpress 12' brake, 1/4" 10' Atlantic shear,Koikie plasma table W/ esab plasmas. marvel & hyd-mech saws, pirrana & metal muncher punches.
Reply:The 250's have the 3 cylinder motor almost all other models have a 4 cyl. motor.I have a 250 on my truck it does shake but the only time it really matters is if your trying to make a fit then you have to kick it in high.
Reply:Something I did on all my trailers and trucks, mount rubber (old truck flaps, etc) in between the machine and its mount. It helps in all ways. You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else. Albert Einstein
