tow truck bumper conversion

my latest project is converting an old tow truck bumper for use on my excursion....  I cut about 6 inches off the bottom with the plasma.  then cut out the middle and adapted the winch plate.   Just needed to get it mounted before leaving for CA for a month so that I can work on it more in CA on my "vacation".  the winch and mount are off of a Military Hummer,  10,500 lb milemarker winch. it bolts on with 5 bolts into the main bumper.    will add uprights and grill guard as I didn't like the flat plate grill guard that it came with... think tow truck style.   also have 2 large dock bumpers that  will get added to the front with a couple of lights and a 2" receiver.    didn't grind or clean up any thing yet  just needed it mounted to the truckdid short spray arc welding on it    Powcon with 75/25 in spray arc setting...   cuz it was quicker...couple of the welds need grinding out and redoing once i get to CATiger Sales:  AHP Distributor    www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P,  Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma.  For Sale:  Cobra Mig 250 w/ Push-pull gun.  Lincoln Wirematic 250

Reply:off topic question but what is going on around the fountain, springs for work, always wanted to relocate there after leaving carson in the mid 70's just havent made it yet.
Reply:love the area.   not really sure job wise but all the military in this area helped weather the recession pretty well.   several home builder in the area have restarted building homes again after about a 3 year hiatus.  they moved a lot of the fort hood guys to Fort Carson so that bought about 10- 15k more soldiers to the areathis is a great area to live,   I am just a couple miles east of exit 128 and gate 20 at FC... Reply:Thanks for th follow up if there were any jobs I sure would like to find my way back there,  other than the time spent there in the army L.A. has been home.  it is time to move on and i really liked it there an army buddy still lives there, he got hurt with plastic explosives so he retired out young and stayed there, any way did notmean to high jack.thanksron
