I am looking at used spool guns and I found HTP and the prices for the new guns are about the same as a used miller or lincoln. I am not going into production, but I do need to weld 3/8" aluminum from time to time. Anyone out there used any of these welders? They offer a 50' spool gun, with controller/adapter for my welder for $950. They say they are USA made as well. Here is a link to the website: http://www.htpweld.com/index.htm
Reply:I do not have a spool gun but I do have 2 of their welders and would not hesitate purchasing any of their products. Good company to deal with.mm135HTP Invertig 201 With water cooler9" Southbend LatheLots of hand tools.
Reply:How long have you had them? Why do you say good company to deal with? Thanks
Reply:I've never used their spool guns but I bought my HTP MIG200 new back around '92-ish and have been very happy with it ever since. Jeff Nolan and everyone at HTP are very helpful, just call and talk to them if you have any questions. Not very many companies around where you can call and get help directly from the owner of the company. I've talked to him a few times over the years and he is a top notch guy to deal with.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
Reply:I will call and talk with them this week. I like the idea of a smaller company. Are the consumables locally available or do you need to get the parts through HTP?
Reply:Their mig guns use standard Tweco style front end parts, available locally. Not sure about their spool guns.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op |
