my sae 400 and ln 25 on hardwire does not maintain constant arc length,.035 with gas mix shield, does not want to turn down, also have flux core setup,is innershield ok ,nr 208h applicable to bucket welding,I keep sayin to one of my salesmen that it feels like it needs a constant voltage pack, can anyone help with settings, running reverse polarity on hardwire,is flux core straight?thaqnks in advance for help.
Reply:If you don't have it already, go here http://content.lincolnelectric.com//...r/im/IM359.pdf to download the LN-25 manual (or enter the unit code number here http://www.mylincolnelectric.com/Cat...ualsearch.aspx for the right one) which should help you sort things out.Although I don't have any personal experience with your combination and LN-25 manual section B1 recommends the CV adapter for use with the SAE-400, the LN-25 should still give acceptable results in CC mode when set up accordingly. And yes, fluxcore is "straight" polarity (electrode negative).MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:Using constant current to run wire feed, any variation in your torch tip to work distance as you're welding creates a variation in the voltage and therefore the burn off rate of the wire, which results in a variation of the arc length. Basicaly, you need to hold a very consistent tip to work distance, torch angle and travel speed to get a consistent weld result with constant current.Solid wire and shielding gas, use electrode positive. Fluxcore wire and shielding gas (aka dual shield or outer shield), most use electrode positive. Fluxcore wire self shield, no gas (aka inner shield), use electrode negative.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
Reply:do you have cv adapter for your machine because you'll need one . i run big blue 400 and a company i was with wanted to use ln-25 for their sae machines but had to get the adapters for constant voltage . big blue already set up for it.
