Tried to Tig today.

I tried to tig today scratch start. I need lots more practice first pic left handed no filler the rest are right handed with filler. Reply:very clean, also try and keep consistent travel speed as well as dips with filler.
Reply:One problem I have is I pull the filler rod out to far.I ground the steel shiny but had no acetone to wipe it with. Reply:From what little I can see, it is a good thing that the picture is out of focus.Just a wild guess, you may not be aware that TIG requires a very small distance between the tip of the tungsten and the work surface, roughly 1/16 to 1/8" for manual welding.

Reply:work on consistency with moving the torch and adding filler, and looks like your holding your tungsten to high off  the base metal, should only be like 1/8 max
