So the cardboard bailer at one the stores I service had a 6 in crack in the eight inch barrel housing. The crack was at the weld, where the housing attached to the base plate. So I plugged in the trusty Lincoln PowerMig 140C to a 115 volt outlet and did this . . I replaced the expanded metal on the safety gate. It was old and busted up in way to many places, so I cut it out, added two 1" square tube uprights, and put in new 1/8 thick expanded metal. Tied it in everywhere. (I was sick of hearing it rattling anytime I shopped at this store.) only trouble I had with it, now the gate outweighs the counterweights , so I need to add some bulk so it actually goes up. That will be tommorow. Let me know what you think. Oh, we replaced the cylinder in case you were wondering. Attached ImagesLast edited by Birdwell4; 11-01-2011 at 09:17 PM.
