For cutting perfectly round holes, this cutting attachment makes the job easy. If you have a number of holes that must be precisely cut, this will do it. The attachment is made to fit a Victor 2460 torch by removing the tip nut and screwing the attachment on. The torch rotates around a center pin using a sealed ball bearing with no drag. I use it to cut holes 2" to 6" diameter. Attached Images

Reply:I would borderline this as spam, but at least its relevant. None the less, i need to make one of these...
Reply:pretty cool.  I'd try one if it's not too crazy on price, or made in China.Buy American, or don't whine when you end up on the bread line.
Reply:It is spam, but also relevant.  You can make your own easily from stuff you probably have laying around.  Only difference is it will just slip over the torch tip instead of being attached to the tip retaining nut as this one is.  They work really well.  You can use a nut instead of a bearing, still works real smooth."The man of great wealth owes a peculiar obligation to the State, because he derives special advantages from the mere existence of government."  Teddy RooseveltAmerican by birth, Union by choice!  Boilermakers # 60America is a Union.

Reply:Guess it takes a little skill.  Not worth $50 to me."The man of great wealth owes a peculiar obligation to the State, because he derives special advantages from the mere existence of government."  Teddy RooseveltAmerican by birth, Union by choice!  Boilermakers # 60America is a Union.

Reply:Victor has had one for sale for 60 years.  No bearing but works realy well.  Mac
Reply:What affect does the heat have on that sealed bearing, seems to me the rubber then the grease are going to come out of the bearing. Reply:Send one my way... im lazy. Ive thought about trying to adapt something magnetized in the middle... like a HF magnet or something on a swivel, but i have a tendancy to overcomplicate stuff. so maybe im doing that again. I like the design above, but it seems to me it should have a guard for the bearing or something... idea patent pending and trademarked. Ill sell it to you for the low low price of 51.99...USD, Cash only.
Reply:I build ones with magnets holds torch up make very smooth hole or disc but magnets dont last long.
Reply:That looks EXACTLY like Miller's plasma cutting guide.  Better check with the lawyers about copyright infringement.
Reply:Jmtebbens - Consulting Alfred's Legal Guide to Product Development, I found the following: "If attorneys need to be involved, let the other guy hire ‘em."  The "compass" circle guide is such a basic concept that's been around for so long, that I can't imagine there'd be a patent issue worth contesting. Although the True Circle "arbor-nut" concept seems unique.True Circle - I'd gladly pay 50 bucks for a circle guide with  precision bearing, but... It would have to be a universal tool-less slip-fit to most torch models/tips and have an adjustable  height feature. If the guide included "training wheels" and extensions for larger circles, I'd probably go $75 or more.Good LuckLast edited by denrep; 11-08-2011 at 07:02 AM.
Reply:I built similar for a 180% victor I can cut up to 20" with mine ill put pictures as soon as I figure how to...
Reply:Looks like a slick little attachment.   THe problem with using a magnet is that the only magnets strong enough to work right would be neodymium.  if you heat a neo magnet of 175f it turns into a nice rock. When any government, or any church for that matter, undertakes to say to its subjects, "This you may not read, this you must not see, this you are forbidden to know," the end result is tyranny and oppression, no matter how holy the motives.

Reply:Actually it will.  Just remove the magnet & use a 10-32 screw in a small center hole drilled at the center.  Minimum diameter will be approximately 1".Reason the magnet is there is to prevent putting a hole in the center of the circle you are cutting.  If using a "non-magnetic" metal, just attach a strong magnet underneath, the two magnets then clamp the metal between each other.MarkI haven't always been a nurse........Craftsman 12"x36" LatheEnco G-30B MillHobart Handler 175Lincoln WeldandPower 225 AC/DC G-7 CV/CCAdd a Foot Pedal to a Harbor Freight Chicago Electric 165A DC TIG PapaLion's Gate Build
