Forgive me if this is a stupid question. There have been advances in welders since I welded 24 years ago. I am looking to get a stick welder to augment the Lincoln 140 wirefeeder. I used an AC buzzbox back in the day but always prefered DC. I see they have these "inverter" welders now which are "DC" right?Can you switch polarity on them to weld out of position? (told you it was a stupid question)
Reply:Most of the inverter stick welders will be DC only. Reply:All inverters are dc welders. The real expensive ones are also ac welders with high frequency start for aluminum tig welding.I never switch polarity for out of position for stick welding.
