HF Oxy/Act torch,,good or bad?

I noticed that HF is going to have the CE industrial Oxy/Acet set up on sale next month, $159. Anyone have experence with them?
Reply:They work. I used to buy the cheap HF sets for the regs for wrecking jobs. The equipment is not treated very nice. However we would use Smith torches. Reply:I bought this set as my first set. They are pretty good overall. The hose set they include is that crap vinyl hose. The torch itself is decent, especially for a beginner. I am just starting to notice the peices wearing out a bit, and after 3 years, thats not too bad.
Reply:While the HB and other cheap imports look like Victor or other brands, the are not the same internally.  Parts are not always avialable for most of the cheap imports. Everyone wanting to purchase a cheap set should know that if the unit fails it will have to be replaced.I would stick with a Smith, Harris or Victor know that I will have years of reilable service, and the torches and regulators will be repairable for many years to come.OAdoctorwww.regulatortorchrepair.com
Reply:The HF regulators are known to be sticky, which translates in significant fluctuations in pressure. When this happens, it becomes very hard to cut or weld. Heating, it's not so bad.
