Hydraulic Tube

Anyone know what kind of steel hydraulic tube is made from? From the pics it looks like coated steel but may be stainless. The factory weld has started leaking and ordering a new part will take days. Reply:The possibillities are almost endless for what type of alloy. Check with a magnet, if it is stainless most likely 316 but could be 304. Looks like a piece of european equipment many different steel alloys used for tubing.

Reply:I doubt that is anything crazy some e70s if it is not stainless, should do it. It is a pressure line though so you will need to prep the weld area properly. V it out clean really good, and do it off the machine.

Reply:Pull harder on the wrench LOL. there is an oring in the flange right by where it looks like you need to weld. Plus you will need to Vee out the crack grinding dust is not real compatible with a hydraulic system.
