..Hey guys.. I've located a real steady and cheap source for 14ga steel tubing and 1" .084 walled Al tubing for a pile of projects coming up. I have the gear listed in my sig, but was thinking of getting something to use on this stuff with flux core. The wind never seems to stop around here anymore. Plus I like the idea of something not necessarily strapped to my big 'ol Regency and smaller than the spoolgun. There's lots of little welds at various angles/positions, so small sounds appealing. Seems cost on both types seems about the same, only I'm comparing new FC welders to the ever-scarce used wire feeders...Anyways, thoughts & opinions on the subject are appreciated. Thanks.. d:^) Schneeks..ESAB 161 LTSCommunicate & adapt, diggit.?ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ
Reply:OK.. I'm a dipstick.. From reading it seems there's no affordable Al flux core alternative.. Still would be nice for the muthaload of thin steel I found. So the same question still applies. Looks like I gotta get a shelter, too.. d:^) Schneeks..ESAB 161 LTSCommunicate & adapt, diggit.?ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ
Reply:I personlly would not buy a cheap FC welder...there is another board memeber selling a s22a, witch would hook right up to your regency.http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=49662the only problem with a wirefeeder...aluminum doesnt like to feed very far |
