I have a problem with my Trailblazer 301 that I can't figure out. It happens only once or twice a year and isn't lasting but can be a problem. It happened yesterday and was just exactly like the other times, start the machine, let it warm up, start welding, change rods and no arc. There is no arc even shorting across the lugs on the machine. I usually can turn the machine off and wait about 15 minutes and try again and it will be fine and may not do it again for a year. Yesterday it wouldn't come back even after an hour. I had to use some little chicken $hit little wire machine that the customer owned, to finish the job. This morning the machine welded fine and I used it for several hours today with no problem.I've had it in the shop twice but it worked fine after taking it in. Any ideas guys?
Reply:Brush holder hanging up.
Reply:The same thing happened to mine when it was new. I sent it out, they found nothing. It has yet to happen again in almost 9 years.Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."
Reply:I'd wager a corroded terminal or two at one (or more) harness/board connector(s). There's only a gazillion on the TB301.
