So ive been plugging away at college for a little over a month now me and my instructor have hit it off great we have a lot in common .any way hes in a boilermaker union his dad owns a company that only hires from this union for jobs he has .well i really impressed my instructor we talked tonight about my options for work after college and we both think boilermaking will be a better fit for me than pipelining so hes going to hook me up with the union and talk to the right ears about me and i have a shot !!!!! so after school ill be a apprentice for a boilermaker union here in Illinois making bank . now that he did that im pulling doubles at college welding the crap out of pipe and hes coming in early to teach me the way high pressure pipe needs to be welded .so i just want to say it pays to show up every day put in 200% of hard work never give up you can make dreams happen .i never missed a day i show up early get to work and im the last to leave .
Reply:Congratulations!! That's great news. Only in America!!!
Reply:Great news and good luck with your career.TOO MANY TOOLS & NO MORE SPACE
Reply:Great way to be! I am sure your instructor is just as excited to have a student so willing to learn and focused.
Reply:Congrats! What school? ICC?
Reply:Boilermaking, a little dirtier but a lot more interesting.
Reply:It's a great place to start. A buddy of mine is IBA in the Virgin Islands.. little guy. Always crammed in somewhere uncomfortable. So this means you get to bypass the application process since you have an "in", or am I misunderstanding something?
