Reply:Doesn't your LWS carry it? I believe Fresno Oxygen/Barnes Supply carries it, as should lots of other places.

Reply:believe it or not my lws says they dont carry it and were less than helpful about getting me 5# of it....thanks very much for the link...
Reply:A number of racing suppliers will carry it as well, as they use it for most tube to sheet welds for firewalls and floor pans. RJ Race Cars is one off the top of my head.
Reply:thanks, supe..

Reply:i have gotten so many responses surprised that i cant get this at my lws, so i decided why should i let those lazy guys off the hook, i buy/rent all my gas fromthem.. so i checked the techair website..they seem to carry only lincoln rods, and no siliconbronze listed there..so i'll check the leads given here, thanks again, actually feel better knowing my lws isnt porkin the pooch on me.....
Reply:Weldbead,Started to comment earlier but saw that a couple posters had provided on line retailers for silicon bronze.I've never had a problem getting silicon bronze filler (.045, 1/16, 3/32, or 1/8) from my LWS. They did strike out though when I needed some aluminum bronze filler. Got it online from weldingdepot as well as I remember.Don't know what you're using the silicon bronze for, but you may want to check out the specs on aluminum bronze filler (harris website has a comparison table). You'll see that the aluminum bronze has higher strength than the silicon bronze.Syncro 250 DX Dynasty 200 DXMM 251 w/30A SG XMT 304 w/714 Feeder & Optima PulserHH187Dialarc 250 AC/DCHypertherm PM 1250Smith, Harris, Victor O/ASmith and Thermco Gas MixersAccess to a full fab shop with CNC Plasma, Water Jet, etc. |
