Reply:That is funny you said that i am from WA orignialy and got pulled over all the time in my samurai going to naches. I got so may tickets, i hated living there, Colorado you can drive a full on buggy down the street as long as you have turn signals, brake lights and mudflaps.
Reply:you've got to remember the mudflaps/fender well requirements are not for your safety. but those behind/beside you. the wash off those tires goes a long way. and it's no small amount of water. even with flaps and flares most large tires still kick out a large amount of spray. which isn't limited to water, but snow, ice chucks, rocks, etc.  if anyone is following you or even next to you, they're getting hit by this. You might think it looks cool to have the tires out that far, and it serves a purpose off road, but for a street legal vehicle it's not only un nessicary, but down right dangerous to those around you. I'm sorry, but IMO you probably deserved all the tickets. Don't get me wrong, I, in my time, had dailydriver offroad vehicles that were lifted with mud tires etc. but I never got a ticket because I understood that those laws are there for a reason, and I respect the safety of others. I'm perfectly fine with someone endangering themselves, but once they bring other people into it without giving them a choice in the matter I've got an issue.There are no problems.
