Flange Adapters

here is some stuff i did today, they are what I call flange adapters.  basicly what happend was customer has a alum watter tanker that had some odd ball size flanges on it and since i dont have a tig rig to put in standard flanges i did this took a 4" sch 80 nipple beveled it cut a flange out of 1/2" plate to match the odd ball one then they can bolt that on the truck screw on a standard flange and attach a valve there will be a gasket between the steel flange and aluminum flange. Reply:Looks like it will work to me! Did you weld inside the flange too? Or just relying on penetration from the outer weld? Not saying you should, just asking questions. Be careful running your pipe vise on the threads like that, maybe a better idea would be to screw a coupler on the threads, then clamp on the coupler. Either way, well done.

Reply:I made one a couple weeks ago, a reducer/flange for a wood stove. Reply:i beveld the nipple which was a 4" nipple the cut my flange with a 4" hole gaped it and ran a root pass  hot pass then my cap on my first one tho i did weld from the inside i messed up  hap poor fit up so theat y i did that but i was more carefull on my fit up for #2 never even thought about using a coupler duh me thank goodness for pipe dope lolhavent had much time to work on my 6G  which is good cause im busy with work but bad cause i need to practice dang it.the pic don't show it to well but i did get pennatration all the way  on my root ill get more pics of my pipe practice up soon as i get a chance to do someLincoln Pro Core 125Lincolin sp 100Miller Big 40Lincoln Idealarc SP250miller matic 212http://www.facebook.com/hdwelding?sk=wallwww.hdweldingbeds.com
