I built this mounting plate for my neighbor out of some scrap I had laying around. Everytime I borrow the skid steer, I need to take that spear on and off. All welds are 7018 Stick except the angle irons which were Migged. I figured you guys would like to see the photo's. Attached Images
Reply:I want one of those for the front of my car
Reply:Nice! Your neighbor will find the machine is much more useable with the spear on it's own mount. It's always so tempting to bolt/weld something to a bucket but down the road it either tears up the bucket or is always in the way. Good job.

Reply:Last year he came home with some 1200lb or more Round Bales. When he went to unload them, It was kind of a tippy project. Then all summer he kept lamenting about bowing the bucket. I told him to get a universal plate and I would weld them together. 2 weeks ago, I loaded a compressor and had to take the spear off which is hard for me to do alone. So I figured a "Christmas Present" to him was in order. Hence is why its all made from scrap I had laying around. |
