Need help with spool gun

I have a mac tools mw 250 mig welder aka autoarc 250 looks just like miller 250 i am looking to buy a spool gun . Looks like machine has a spot for spool gun control .What gun and control do I need? Thanks for all help.  chris

Reply:Where do you buy your consumables? If the Miller drive rolls and nozzles fit then it may be made by them. I have heard of shops buying from Mac and being told that they have them made by Miller and then finding out that they are made by a company called Nu-Tec and warranty becomes an issue. I haven't seen one personally, but they are supposed to have a much lower duty cycle. They are probably good for welding exhaust systems, but not much more.Seeing how yours is a 250 amp unit, it would probably be worth getting your local Miller rep to hook up a 15A spoolgun to find out. Even if the connector looks the same, the pins may not be wired correctly.If you know someone who owns one, see if you can borrow it.Post your findings.
Reply:The welder is a miller 250 or at least identical, I still need the adapter or module from spool gun to welder. The sales man I bought this from 12 years ago died 3 years ago, I am no longer in contact with mac tools.
