Has anyone had any luck with one of these cheap spot welders?
Reply:I got one a year ago to try out. It's the 220v model. Works good on sheet metal less than 16 gage. Not the best for 16 gage. Works but not great. The tips are not standard tips and HF does not sell replacement tips. I got Miller tips and drilled and tapped the matching holes in the HF thongs. So now I just get Miller tips. Replacement thongs cost as much as the spot welder. HF does not sell them. I bought a longer set of Miller thongs. Bottom line is its ok for light work. For parts your on your own.
