im looking for some input on a new tig welder im looking for a inverter machine around/perferably over 200A AC/DC with HF start and pulsemy previous inverter was a diversion 165 but the main board is fried and is 6 months out of warranty and is $800 for a new board alone. on a machine that can be bought new for $1200 now ?my other welders include a miller trailblazer, millermatic 350P, & Syncrowave 351. I want to step up to a machine that has more control upslope and downslope controls aswell as pulse and hertz adjustment on A/C. I do alot of marine work and i also build conveyers and aquaculture equipment. so i used to only do SS but sine i have gotten my 350P iv gotten into alot of aluminum mostly 1/8-1/4 its eaisier to work with for the most part and my customers love the weight saving. I want a reliable machine that i can use everyday. Id love to be able to get a miller dynasty 350 but @ $7800 its out of my budget for the time being and the dynasty 200 @ $3800 im not quite sold on especialy when their seems to be equal or better non blue machines for way less?iv done alot of searching and like the new everlast 255ext and the HTP 221. the everlast scares me a little because of all the horror stories from a few years back but i really looks like they have stepped up their game on the new 255EXT? and iv heard some good stories on the HTP221 but no one i know personally and it seems like most of the video reviews are from people that its their first welder or are obviously pushing the product? does any one have either machine or know of any good true reviews of either ? the pros of both are that they offer 90 day money back guarenty as well as a 3 yr warranty on the HTP and 5 yr on the everlast i also looked at longevity and they just seem to be another everlast with less features ? didnt realy see any machine that jumoed out as having the features i wantany input would be great if you have either of the two above or if their is any brand or machine i have overlooked please let me know. im not trying to rush into another purchase. i still have my water cooled syncrowave 351 that im using daily now but realy want more control and another lighter machine that i can cary with me and even drive off of my trailblazer if i dont have acess to 220 @ customers location.
Reply:First, call Miller customer service about your Diversion. They have been known to work with owners of machines that died just after warranty.Everything I hear about the HTP is good. It has more power than the Dynasty 200 and is less expensive. Get the dual-voltage version and you can run it off 120V on outside jobs. The Dynasty has more "bells and whistles" but most would be of limited use to the average welder.JohnA few weldersA lot of hammersA whole lot of C-clamps
Reply:Diversion165 versus Dynasty200. I get Diversion165 power out of my Dynasty200 plugged into 115volts on a 30 amp breaker with one hand tied behind my helmet. Just think what you could do on 220volts. I am an Dynasty inverter guy, and my 700 is ok, my 350 is awesome, my 200 is well, magic. I marvel everyday "How did they do it?"You are welcome to come over and give each one a test drive if you wish. Then you will know.Weld like a "WELDOR", not a wel-"DERR" MillerDynasty700DX,Dynasty350DX4ea,Dynasty200DX,Li  ncolnSW200-2ea.,MillerMatic350P,MillerMatic200w/spoolgun,MKCobraMig260,Lincoln SP-170T,PlasmaCam/Hypertherm1250,HFProTig2ea,MigMax1ea.
Reply:i spoken with miller a few months back when it happened i took the case apart and found a burnt component on the board and called them and the best they could do is sell me the part at cost  but its still over $650 but the repair would have to be done at a certified miller repair facility and the nearest one is 4hrs+ away and they wanted $150 just to look at it because its out of warranty shovelon I understand what you are saying. the dynasty 200 is a step up but im wondering if its a big enough step up especially when you consider the cost vs other 220-260amp inverter based tig welder that seem to have all the same features i want for half the cost ?
