terrible welds

I'm looking for a root rake and came upon this site, looking at the welds I'd be hesitant to buy. Look at the vertical weld on the mech. tubing in the 2nd pic from the left in the middle row http://tinyurl.com/62spgzt ,......Mike

Reply:Those welds sure are ugly, no idea whether there was good penetration, but someone willing to call that finished might not have bothered to make sure that the pieces were glued well.I am finding more and more that I am disappointed by the quality of the low end attachments.  Many of the simple attachments at the low end of the price scale just aren't worth the money.  Since I am salaried so I can't as easily convert my hours to money I am leaning more toward building the simple attachments that I need around the property and to support the logging work that I do.If I know that I have a few weekends ahead that I can use, I would be inclined to build it.Hobart LX235Victor 250 Oxy-Acetylene Rig (welding and cutting)Bobcat 773F-350, 1999, 4x4, 16' 10K# trailerOutdoor Wood Burner - 10 cords/year
