Reply:Hey uma,Yes, you have to hook up the line from the flowmeter to your unit, turn it on, press the trigger & adjust the top dial to get the flowrate you want. The ball will move up as you increase flow. Generally, when inside, 12-15 cfh would be adequate.DennyComplete Welding/Machine/Fab. Reply:Yes... you need to be flowing gas in order to adjust it. So when you put the hose on the gas has no where to go, and thus the ball wont move because nothing is flowing. You need to pull the trigger or hit the purge button while adjusting.Have we all gone mad?
Reply:lol i figured thats what it was since its a FLOW meter he he just had to be sure 350P 30A spool gun cut master 51 syncro 250 other stuff " take a dog off the street and make him prosper and he will not bite you sad the same cannot be said for man" i didnt use punctuation just to piss you off

Reply:uma,You've just unknowingly found another advantage to a true "flowmeter".If it's showing flow (ball floating) when you're not using the pedal or in postflow, then you've got a leak in the system. If you're using it on a mig, then you might want to reach down and adjust your wfs to the minimum while setting your flowrate. Just saves a few inches of wire.Syncro 250 DX Dynasty 200 DXMM 251 w/30A SG XMT 304 w/714 Feeder & Optima PulserHH187Dialarc 250 AC/DCHypertherm PM 1250Smith, Harris, Victor O/ASmith and Thermco Gas MixersAccess to a full fab shop with CNC Plasma, Water Jet, etc.

Reply:BC,"Smacking myself on the forehead"...Now why didn't I think of that.Probably because it's easier for me to just snip off 6-8" of wire than it is to "open the door".Actually, on my wirefeeder (714 DX) it's easier to just hit the "purge" button.Syncro 250 DX Dynasty 200 DXMM 251 w/30A SG XMT 304 w/714 Feeder & Optima PulserHH187Dialarc 250 AC/DCHypertherm PM 1250Smith, Harris, Victor O/ASmith and Thermco Gas MixersAccess to a full fab shop with CNC Plasma, Water Jet, etc.
