I am extremely prone to getting eye infections known as corneal ulcers. The doctors haven't been able to tell me much but the best solution is keeping my eyes as safe as possible. It is more common to get these when I am working out in the shop a lot. I think debris can scratch my eye and make it more likely for the infection to start. This morning I got to dig a black spec of something out of my eye that was dead in the center of the ulcer. I am pretty religious about wearing my safety glasses in the shop especially when cutting and grinding. I use the cheap wrap around safety glasses though and there is a lot of room on the sides where falling debris and ricochet's can get into my eyes. I have spent the morning looking for a better solution and can't find anything I really like. The goggles seem the most protective but I would much prefer glasses style than the headband just for ease and comfort. Most of the goggles have an open cell foam like ski goggles. This and the headband would get nasty real quick doing metal fab. Others have more of a closed cell foam where it touches your face but I still don't want that surface area rubbing metal, grinding dust and grease into my face. So what do you guys wear? Anyone have glasses that keep stuff out real well while being comfortable and not getting disgusting?  I was almost thinking it would be nice to find glasses with a soft rubber seal that rests lightly on your face. I was thinking like the 3M rubber face piece. It gets sweaty and filthy but at least it wipes down easy.Lincoln precision TIG 275Millermatic 140 MIG
Reply:I wear my mask most of the day anyway. Maybe I should just take it to the next level lol. Nevermind, it would need to work with my hood so maybe this one http://www.shop3m.com/personal-prote...aceshield.htmlLast edited by yoshimitsuspeed; 09-21-2013 at 03:23 PM.Lincoln precision TIG 275Millermatic 140 MIG

Reply:I wear Jackson nemesis glasses. When grinding or torch cutting, I also wear a face shield. The only time I notice stuff hitting my face is when I'm using a "flap wheel" on a die grinder.

Reply:So I ended up ordering a set of the dewalt goggles. I feel like they will drive me crazy but they are worth a shot. I also ordered a set of these http://www.mcrsafety.com/index.php/g...safety_glasses.Still bulkier than I like my glasses but the rubber seal looks more comfortable and functional than the foam on most.Still definitely interested to hear what other people use and thoughts and opinions.Lincoln precision TIG 275Millermatic 140 MIG
