Hello everyone, I have often needed to set-up for GTAW or GMAW/FCAW on a jobsite or inside of a facility to perform work. Lugging bottles around and finding someplace to safely tie them off can sometimes be a challenge or at least be time consuming. Quite some time ago I was fortunate enough to come across one of these that had been commercially produced, here is a version of that cart that I put together for our shop at the school. We have machines that students are converting from FCAW/gas shielded to GMAW spray quite often, so instead of changing bottles out, we can roll this one up and simply disconnect and reconnect the quick-connect on the existing set-up. I've still got some work to do on it, but it's close to being finished and ready for some paint. Best regards, Allan Attached Imagesaevald

Reply:Is there any kind of lock on it so that when it is opened up, it cant close by accident ?
Reply:Looks nice. Have you thought about some kind of fold up handle or does the upper c-channel serve that purpose?
Reply:Awesome, great job!
Reply:Hello ar15is223, the lower link goes past 90 by about 7 to10 degrees so it will not "unhinge" yet I have considered adding a lock. Thanks for taking the time to reply. Best regards, Allanaevald
Reply:Hello forhire, the handle is one of the items that is yet to be added. It will likely be a fixed handle. Best regards, Allanaevald
Reply:Hello everyone, got a little more time to work on my bottle cart. Tidied up the bottle chain system, added a handle, and did install a positive locking system for the fold-down crazy wheels. Here are some additional pictures. Best regards, Allan Attached Imagesaevald
Reply:Allan, very nice, heavy duty and practical! Looking at the diameter of the axle verses the rest of the unit, it looks a little thin. Maybe just the camera angle. Best Bob
Reply:Hello Bob, the axle is 5/8" and is sleeved with 5/8" X 1 1/2" OD. stock that is welded to the outside of the piece of channel on the bottom on both sides. Best regards, Allanaevald
Reply:Allan, thats plenty big enough!! Bob |
