Reply:i took classes there some years ago. jim greer was someone pretty high up in the AWS if i recall correctly. Supposedly hes an amazing welder. Do they still have the acetylene bottle on display that some kid struck an arc on? they always told that story when I was there.

Reply:I just remember there being a cylinder in one of the classrooms that someone had run a bead on. It was like the story every teacher told on the first day when going over safety rules. They would point to the now empty cylinder and tell that story..... I dont remember the details.
