I need some ideas please

ok for my final exam in welding class. I can make and design my own anything for my final exam.heres the catch I have to buy my own metal.I also have only 14 hours to make that project. I can also use mig,tig,stick,oaw welding. i can choose how much thickness of metal also.I cant make any weapons or anything like a ash tray or something thats a small box for pencils. also i have to make my own blue print.I dont know what to make to be honest.
Reply:build yourself an off road bumper and brush guard or a portable tree stand. maybe a headache rack for the truck

Reply:Find a ramp you like, get dimensions, convert them to the metal you have handy using the skills you learned in school.Ramps aren't really very useful. (I'm a mechanic and I gave mine away! I use steel rims instead. They work on sand, they don't sink, and they are much more stable. Being "free" is nice too.)If you intend on doing more welding practice so you can test for jobs, consider making a practice "tree" with a tripod base. They are easy, and since welding practice just before testing is key to being ready you can just mount your coupon (or whatever) and go. Most welding students don't set up a proper practice area at the house, and a "tree" with clamps can also hold actual workpieces conveniently if needed.
