This is a project I did about two years ago. This company always used their shoring contractors booms and decided it was time to build their own. Great project to do. Attached Images

Reply:I like that, quick connect, and adjustable length. I am going to show this to a customer, there might be one on the table. Good work, keep it up.Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."

Reply:Thats afine lookin piece. I've never seen anyone around these parts use one of those, but i can see alot of uses for it. Very well done.
Reply:Very nice, I would like to make a smaller version of that for my trac hoe.
Reply:Thanks for the comments. It is a handy tool. The contractor uses it mostly to set rebar, concrete panels, valves and such for lift stations and open trench work. The only thing I would change next time is making the boom 8"X10" instead of 8"X8". The length is 13 ft. and thats about max length for a 200 series track hoe and the material. The nice thing is you could have a couple of shorter lengths depending on your needs.(If the boom is all the way in you run the risk of hitting the stick with the stick.) I also added an eye for a shackle (clevis) and a short cable to connect to the eye on the quick connect for a safety. but they never use it.
