I was just wondering if they make pancake hoods that will fit over prescription glasses...I need to wear prescription glasses to see the definition of the puddle just makes it easier to weld...I always wanted to get a pancake but i would like to find one that can fit around my glasse..any suggestions or ideas.?Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
Reply:A lot of it depends on your glasses frame. I've known several welders that wore their glasses under a pancake. You have to take the little wood blocks out on the inside of the wooden part (where your earpieces for the glasses will go). I saw a pic on facebook where someone just notched it out for the ear pieces. I took the blocks out of mine, and can wear my safety/sun glasses under mine, takes a little getting used to pulling your hood down with the glasses on, but not really a big deal. I had one welder that ordered his glasses from somewhere, they had a thin wire frame, and the lenses were stop sign shaped. Wrap around ear piece style works best, they stay in place better.-------------------------Chemetron AC/DC 300 HFSnap-On MM300L Lincoln SP140 Lincoln AC/DC 225g Lincoln SA200 Lincoln SA200 Miller Bobcat 225GVictor torchesH&M and Mathey beveling machinesMcElroy Plastic pipe fusion |
