Hey guys and gals, My wife bought me a new welder last week, and a bottle of argoshield light, and a bottle of argon. I was just curious if I could use the regulator for both gasses, or if I should go get another one for the argon. I have tried searching and cant seem to come up with a solid answer. Opinions, advice, discussion welcome!
Reply:From what I have read in my research on meters and regulators you can use it for both. An argon flow meter/regulator works for both argon and Co2 and since Argoshield is a mix of argon and Co2 it should work fine.
Reply:Thanks for the reply. I kind of thought the same, since the argoshield is mixed, that I would be able to use it on both, but its always good to hear those with more experience chime in!
Reply:I'm sure the single guys out there will want to know if your wife has a sister.

Reply:Miller 211, with 2 tanks (bought tanks but she bought small ones) a cart, a spoolgun (just the spoolmate 100 or whatever its called) a few extra rolls of wire, and a stainless steel wire brush! She bought me a cheapy auto darkening helmet a few years ago as well! (I will hand it to my old lady, I told her I was interested in welding and making my own stuff, and she totally supported that, plus she makes alot of money so i might as well get her to blow a little of it on me! ) Her sister is married, and my wife fortunately got the looks, so that will be dissapointing to most of ya!
Reply:Um no the info you received is only true; if both cylinders have the same fitting on them, i.e. male or female. If you put a CO2 regulator on an Argon cylinder you will have a hand full of regulator parts embedded in your face.
